At present (May 2007),
we frequently use these applications:
- For web-based newsletter distribution, you should try RDF-based applications like Wordpress, which builds on popular web standards and lets you get your message across through syndication, blogging, podcasting and other so-called "social software" in a very flexible way.
- For databases of products for online shops, consider OSCommerce and its relatives (Commerce Reloaded and so on). We've been testing the 3.0 alpha versions and we'll be ready to work with it.
- For more general sites, we used Joomla and have built hybrid database/content management systems using the Cake framework.
- For library catalogues, we deploy the Koha ILS.
